Last week I decided to give myself a little minibreak before school started. I impulsively booked a ticket to Wales, packed a suitcase and set out. The peace and quiet was absolutely breathtaking. And I’m glad I decided to go.

The first few days I stayed in a valley. Green, full of forest and absolutely no mobile reception. Normally I always carry my phone with my and at times, frantically check it for messages. Being unable to receive text-messages was somewhat relieving.

There was rain, but there were sunny moments, however brief, too.

And the forest was already changing into it’s fall colours.

After that I went to Pembrokeshire.

I got to see the ocean again and I joined my future college on an archaeological tour as part of my training and got to meet a lovely Canadian couple.

And I got to see a few beautiful ancient burial chambers.

Can you imagine that after a few weeks of this, urban Holland is a bit dull?
